Final macho activity

I completely the manly list of accomplishments for this trip with my first ride on a horse. Well, by "riding" I mean a ten-year-old kid pulling me along at a slow walk. But the great part was that I was on a real Mongolian breed - the same kind used by Chinggis Khaan when conquering Asia. Okay, I must admit I did fantasize a little. Notice how relatively small the full-grown horse is. We learned that the local people take offense if you mention it looks like a pony. All of them where small, in our opinion, but tough and fast. The men in Mongolia have three sports by which to prove their prowess: horse racing, wrestling, and archery. The horse races (50km long, across flat land) must be exciting, which include female contestants, but we were there on the off-season.
