Dinner in Bat-Olzly

That afternoon, Zergioo had bought a rack of lamb to cook for dinner. Jojo is busy in the background working the stove. The tin box on the left is full of dung, which is presumeably what the family normally burned for cooking and heat. But when we arrived, they piled wood on top of that, I guess for our benefit. Each meal consisted of meat, either in dumplings, folded crepe-like pockets, or with noodles. The design of the gers was also consistent, with two beams holding up the felt-insulated tent structure, and a round opening at the top for fresh air and to let out the stove exhaust. The gers are very warm inside, usually around 25-30C.
