It's great to see kids in developing countries in school uniforms. I started doing volunteer work in high school, and at that time I just took it for granted that everyone has the opportunity. Laos has a real literacy problem. Because of censorship, poverty, and the subsequent lack of books in circulation, the country has had to take action to promote reading to the poplulation. We saw UNDP vehicles kitted out as mobile libraries, and other fixed buildings built by charity organisations.
